What is this company, really?

Paste domains. For each one we read the homepage and tell you the sector, the niche, and how the company sells, in categories built for outreach rather than SIC codes.

Every answer says how sure it is. When the niche is a coin-toss we say "sector only"; when the site tells us nothing we say so instead of guessing. Mark any card right or wrong: that is how the categories get better.

One per line: domains, email addresses or URLs. Up to 50 per run, 100 a day.

How to read a card

Three levels of certainty, in words. Nothing is forced into a category to look complete.

Confident

The homepage clearly describes the business and one niche fits. Safe to segment or route a sequence on. Where a close alternative exists, the card names it.

Sector only

The sector is certain but two neighbouring niches split the vote: a soap-and-skincare brand, a furniture maker that is also a store. The card names both. Use the sector; pick the niche by hand if it matters.

Could not tell

The site blocked us, is parked, or says nothing about what the company does, and the name alone is not enough. The card says which. Better an honest blank than a wrong industry in your CRM.

Sector and niche

Two levels. The sector is what a CRM "Industry" field wants: Beauty & Personal Care, Software & SaaS, Food & Beverage. The niche is what a sequence is written for: a skincare brand, a salon-supply distributor, a multi-brand beauty retailer. They are different companies with different problems, and a single "Beauty" bucket hides that.

Customers, model, data

Who they sell to (consumers, businesses, both) and how: sells online, D2C brand, multi-brand retailer, marketplace, SaaS, services or agency, physical locations, premium, restricted category. A D2C skincare brand and Sephora share a sector; the model row is what tells you which pitch to send. The data row says what the verdict rests on: homepage read, blocked or empty; detected tech; a company record. Hover a card for { }, the same answer as JSON, the shape our API will return.

The categories

25 sectors, 224 niches. Consumer categories go deep because that is where a generic industry label fails hardest; B2B categories are broad by design.

Missing a niche you segment by? Mark a card "wrong" and pick the closest one, or tell us. The list is meant to be edited.

Why we built this

Industry fields in prospecting databases are filled in once, by someone, from something, and then copied everywhere. The result is a beauty sequence landing at a sportswear giant and a "Retail" label on a company that only sells to salons.

A company's own homepage is the most current description of what it does. We already fetch it for every domain we validate. This page reads that text (title, description, headlines, the first paragraph) and places the company in categories a marketer would actually segment by, saying plainly when it cannot.

It is an experiment. The categories, the wording and the certainty rules are all up for revision, and your "right / wrong" votes are the input.
